In our third episode of the podcast, Erik van Sebille from Utrecht University, presents the concepts of seascape and connectivity.
In this new epsidoe, Erik tells us about the importance of understanding how ocean currents transport heat, nutrients, marine organisms and plastic litter between different regions of the ocean and how these currents change and evolve.
He explains how this is studied, and how this knowledge can help us predict the future status of the ocean under the influence of different factors, climate change for example. This in turn will support decision makers in how to better manage the ocean resources.
